Do you learn to love your facial marks as you get older?

this question is for people who hated their very obivious facial mole/birthmark/similar thing, as a teen

Did you learn to love it as you get older

I have a very obvisous mole right above my top lip, and right now I hate it. do you think I should get rid of it or can I learn to like it.Do you learn to love your facial marks as you get older?
Be proud. A mole within 1 cm of the upper lip i a ';beauty mark';. Studies show that these make the person MORE attractive. I think its good to have them--makes you unique in a way.Do you learn to love your facial marks as you get older?
i think you should just start loving it honey because then if you remove it! ppl will talk and be like omg she removed her mole and blah blah blah! besides flaunt it and make it look good:) Report Abuse

Learn to love it now. You risk the slippery slope problem. If you have it removed now, you're basically saying you don't feel good about yourself. In ten years it could be something different, you might want a nose job, or other plastic surgury. As somebody else said, if it bothers somebody else they are a waste of space. With age it will probably be less bothersome, we tend to mellow with age.
Personally, I would get rid of it if I could. It's not going to get any prettier as you get older. In fact, it could get bigger or darker even. Hair could even start growing out of it! Your insurance might even pay for all or part of the removal procedure.
i thunk so, you dont let it bother you and dont care.
i dont have any facial marks, but i do have a bump on my nose, and it used to really upset me to the point where i found it hard to go in shops and things like that, sounds stupid, but now i just dont give a damn if someones going to judge me on the fact that i am imperfect then their a waste of space! dont get rid of it, keep it, it is part of you and you are unique because your you! if you get what i mean so dont let it get to you!

How large is your mole? Is it centered between the edge of the lip and noise? Or closer to the edge of your lip?

The actress Charleen Tilton, check the tv series Dallas... had a little mole at the upper edge of her lip, she was told by a well know celebrity it was sexy and looked like a little piece of chocolate.

If you are lucky the pigment may eventually fade and the mole not be very noticeable.

But if it really really bothers you ask your mom to make you an appoint with a dermatologist to talk about having it removed.
I doubt you'll learn to LOVE them, but they will gradually just become a part of who you are, and the older you get, the more you learn to love yourself.
