I have chronic facial pain on my right side starting from my ear like earache, does anyone know what it is?

Had MRI done, no problem as per physician, but could this be a nerve problem? Also got thru dentist and ENT for possible TMJ.I have chronic facial pain on my right side starting from my ear like earache, does anyone know what it is?
I used to have the same problem. I saw my allergy doctor first, had an MRI, saw a neurologist, too. The final diagnosis was an extremely un-helpful ';atypical facial pain'; on which there is little documentation available on line. (At least that was the case at the time.) It was similar to pain from sinus pressure and was often accompanied by a strange sensation of heat escaping from my ears. The only hypothesis my ENT could offer is that I may be suffering some nerve damage from recurrent sinus infections. It lasted a couple of years and went away on its own. Dental nerve is a branch of Trigeminal nerve. Neuralgia confined to it is called Dental neuralgia. A dentist ablates it under local anesthesia for permanent relief. Facial nerve also mixes with some sensory nerves derived from Chorda tympany. A neuralgia can occur. It is also called Facial neuralgia .(some authorities refused this nomenclature.)
It may be trigeminalneuralgia which is treatable with Tegretol.
my sister in law had something like that..What was found was that she had a snapped muscle in her jaw......
My husband had the same problem last year. After many Dr. Appointments, X-Rays, Dentist Appointments is was decided there were no tumors, no visual teeth problems and that it was caused from nerves. He had sinus surgery about 6 mos prior and very possibly it was from that. The pain turned into numbness, and now it is slowly going away. They did say he would probably have some numbness the rest of his life but it's better than the ear ache and tooth ache. GOOD LUCK
