Does shaving accelerate facial hair growth?

does shaving accelerate facial hair growth?

i keep getting mixed answers, can i please get one ';correct'; one.Does shaving accelerate facial hair growth?
no no it doesntDoes shaving accelerate facial hair growth?
it does. when you wax your hair, it doesn't grow back as fast because you have pulled out your roots. shaving only cuts the hair, giving it a fresh end, therefore, it grows faster.. just like the hairs on your head.

most men have to shave daily, because their facial hair grows very fast.
Yes it does. Waxing is better it does not accelerate hair growth.
NO

but it does make your hair grow back slightly rougher/thicker because your hair follicles are trying to protect themselves

and be careful not to get any ingrowns!
Yes, I believe it does. It also causes the facial hair to come back more coarse and thick.
You can find arguments on both sides, but medical sources state that this is a myth. It likely has to do with perception: hair is more coarse and dark near the root, meaning that as the hair begins to come back, it appears darker and thicker. The only way to stimulate growth would be an increase in testosterone.

One likely reason for this myth is that young men first take notice of their facial hair at puberty. Because of the high testosterone levels at that age, hair will in fact grow faster. This will not continue throughout life, however.
